What is the International Community Auction?
The International School PTSA’s Annual Community Auction is a fundraising event with 100% of proceeds going back into IS to support and enrich our academics, student activities, and community. It is a great community event for parents, teachers, and staff all coming together to celebrate and support our students.
Why do we need an International Community Auction?
The International Community Auction Fundraiser is the ISPTSA’s biggest fundraiser of the year. The 2022-23 ISPTSA budget, approved by the membership, covers a wide range of expenses, the vast majority of which go directly back into the school to fund costs that are not covered by Washington State, such as school programs, faculty & department requests, student activities and much, much more. Most are recurring and/or community-building programs that total nearly $100k each year such as Senior Celebration & Commencement, Speaker Series, French Intern, Behavioral Health Specialist, HS & 6th Grade Retreats, Senior Board Judges/Advisors, Teacher Training, Teacher Appreciation, the Grants Program, Senior Scholarship and more. Each year we also receive new funding requests which cannot be anticipated but are always considered for funding as is deemed appropriate and as the budget allows. Without the generous donations made at our Community Auction, the ISPTSA could not fund such ambitious goals which benefit every student at IS.
Tickets are $75 per person.

What does the ticket price include?
In addition to an evening filled with entertainment and fun fellowship with our school community, your ticket to the auction includes a complimentary glass of wine along with a catered dinner (choice of beef, chicken, fish, or vegetarian). Additional drinks can be ordered at the bar through the purchase of drink tickets from a volunteer next to the bar. No need to pull out your wallet. Your purchases will be added to your final invoice for the evening.
Who can attend?
The auction is for adults only. Family, friends, neighbors, volunteers, teachers, staff, and alumni of International School are all welcome.
Who will I sit with?
Seating will be assigned. When you buy your ticket you can specify who you would like to sit with. This may be specific people, other parents from a certain grade or club, or you can choose to meet new people and say no preference.
Can I sponsor a teacher/staff to attend the Community Auction?
Of course! A great way to show our teachers and staff appreciation is to sponsor them to the event. This will be available during the registration process on our auction website.
What is the Dress code?
Smart Casual attire is encouraged, but please know your presence is what matters most.
Where should I park?
Parking is complimentary in the Embassy Suites parking lot.
Where do the auctioned items come from?
Items are procured by a team of parent volunteers who reach out to businesses, families, friends, staff, and alumni of the International School. Items will reflect our community and its wonderful diversity, ranging from unique experiences provided by members of the school community to items and experiences donated by local businesses.
Will all the items be expensive?
No, there are items for everyone's budget.
What is the Golden Ticket Raffle?
The Golden Ticket raffle is back by popular demand. You could win a $500 gift card to Canlis, one of Seattle's most storied and celebrated restaurants.
Purchase raffle tickets for $25 each, or 4 tickets for $100. Each ticket is worth one entry into the drawing. Only 200 tickets will be sold. Once all tickets are sold, there are no more. Raffle tickets will be sold at school events leading up to the auction. Any remaining tickets can be purchased at the event. Arrive early to purchase your chance at this incredible prize. The drawing will take place during the Live Auction. You do not need to be present to win.
If I don't plan to spend a lot of money, should I still attend?
Absolutely! Everyone in the community is encouraged to attend. It will be a fun evening with new and old friends and a great time whatever your budget. This is a perfect opportunity to build our International School Community and to show support for our students.
How do I collect what I bid on in the Silent and Live auctions?
At the end of the night, please proceed to the checkout table where they will process your purchases. You may collect your items at this time. Please take your purchases home with you.
If I can't attend, can I still donate or participate in some way?
Yes! Look out for all the ways to give on our auction website!
Donations and Sales guidelines (the small print!)
All donations are non-refundable. Items sold during the auction come with no warranty, or guarantee, either expressed or implied. International School PTSA will not assume any responsibility for any unforeseen damage or lost certificates. All sales are final; there is no return policy.
International School PTSA is a 501(c)(3) organization, gifts to which are deductible as charitable contributions for federal income purposes.
